Outfits & Interiors
Apparently, this is all I know how to post on here, and I'm not mad about it.
Some days I put an outfit on and it just works. Other days, I put on what feels like hundreds of outfits and none of them seem to work. I always wonder if it’s my mood, the weather, a film I just finished, the music that’s playing, the flowers I have on the table…that factor in to how the outfits come together. What’s the formula?
I don’t have an answer to that but I do know that my approach to getting dressed, seems to make a huge difference on how the outfit is created. Typically when I set out to create these outfits, for this series, my goal is to just play around and have fun with it. I get to rely on a color scheme, shapes and silhouettes from the interiors and allow myself to make a big mess of my room, throwing all different articles of clothing and accessories together, until I’m satisfied.
I find that this approach makes for outfits that bring a sense of elation & affirm that I am – in fact – grateful for the inner workings of my mind. These are moments where the imposter syndrome washes away & I can fully trust myself. That feeling is hard to beat.
I think you could apply this to most aspects of life. If you approach something with an ease, curiosity and excitement, it can really help to empower you. Of course it’s not always going to work out, but for the most part, it may give you the boost of confidence you needed.
With that all being said, here are the outfits I came up with for the fifth installment of Outfits & Interiors. As always, I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoy putting them together.
